Authentication

Sign in, sign up, and manage your Taruvi Cloud account.

Overview

Authentication provides secure access to the Taruvi Cloud Console. Create an account, sign in with various methods, and manage your security settings including multi-factor authentication.


Concepts

Account

Your Taruvi Cloud user account, identified by email address. An account can belong to multiple organizations.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

An additional security layer requiring a second verification method (TOTP app) when signing in.

Session

An authenticated session that maintains your login state. Sessions expire after inactivity or can be manually terminated.


Sign Up

Create a new Taruvi Cloud account:

  1. Go to the Taruvi Cloud Console.
  2. Click Sign Up.
  3. Enter your details:
    • Email: Your email address
    • Password: Choose a strong password
    • Name: Your full name
  4. Accept the Terms of Service.
  5. Click Create Account.
  6. Check your email for verification link.
  7. Click the verification link to activate your account.

Sign In

Access your Taruvi Cloud account:

Email and Password

  1. Go to the Taruvi Cloud Console.
  2. Click Sign In.
  3. Enter your Email and Password.
  4. Click Sign In.
  5. If MFA is enabled, enter your verification code.

Social Login

Sign in using a third-party provider:

  1. Go to the Sign In page.
  2. Click the provider button:
    • Sign in with Google
    • Sign in with GitHub
    • Sign in with Microsoft
  3. Complete authentication with the provider.
  4. You're signed in to your account.

Social login requires your email to be verified with the provider.


Forgot Password

Reset a forgotten password:

  1. Go to the Sign In page.
  2. Click Forgot Password?.
  3. Enter your Email Address.
  4. Click Send Reset Link.
  5. Check your email for the reset link.
  6. Click the link in the email.
  7. Enter your new password.
  8. Click Reset Password.

Email Verification

Verify your email address:

  1. After signing up, check your inbox.
  2. Look for the email from Taruvi Cloud.
  3. Click the Verify Email button.
  4. Your account is now verified.

Resend Verification

If you didn't receive the email:

  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. Click the banner prompting verification.
  3. Click Resend Verification Email.
  4. Check your inbox (and spam folder).

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Add an extra layer of security to your account.

Enable MFA

  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. Go to Account Settings.
  3. Click Security.
  4. Click Enable MFA.
  5. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app:
    • Google Authenticator
    • Authy
    • Microsoft Authenticator
  6. Enter the verification code from the app.
  7. Save your backup codes securely.
  8. Click Enable.

Sign In with MFA

  1. Enter your email and password.
  2. When prompted, enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.
  3. Click Verify.

Disable MFA

  1. Go to Account Settings > Security.
  2. Click Disable MFA.
  3. Enter a verification code to confirm.
  4. Click Disable.

Disabling MFA reduces your account security. Only disable if necessary.


Sign Out

End your current session:

  1. Click your profile icon in the header.
  2. Click Sign Out.
  3. You're redirected to the Sign In page.

Account Security

Strong Password Tips

  • Use at least 12 characters
  • Include uppercase and lowercase letters
  • Include numbers and special characters
  • Don't reuse passwords from other services
  • Use a password manager

Session Management

Sessions automatically expire after:

  • 24 hours of inactivity
  • 30 days since last sign in

Troubleshooting

Can't sign in

Problem: Sign in fails with incorrect credentials.

Solution:

  1. Verify your email address is correct.
  2. Check caps lock isn't on.
  3. Use Forgot Password to reset.
  4. Ensure your account is verified.

MFA code not working

Problem: The verification code is rejected.

Solution:

  1. Ensure your device time is synchronized.
  2. Wait for a new code (they refresh every 30 seconds).
  3. Use a backup code if the app isn't working.
  4. Contact support if locked out.

Didn't receive verification email

Problem: Verification email not in inbox.

Solution:

  1. Check spam/junk folder.
  2. Add noreply@taruvi.cloud to contacts.
  3. Request a new verification email.
  4. Verify the email address is correct.

Social login fails

Problem: OAuth login doesn't complete.

Solution:

  1. Clear browser cookies and try again.
  2. Ensure pop-ups aren't blocked.
  3. Verify your provider account is in good standing.
  4. Try a different browser.
